You need to get a job in higher education! I work at our local univeristy (full time) but its such a laid back, flexible environment! Friends I have at other colleges say the same thing...no bottom line, just get your job done and no one complains. I know we have lots of part time secretaries around here and other part time opportunities! Its such a "family" environment too, everyone has kids so they are understanding if you have family issues. My secretary is always taking time off to help with her grandkids. I bring my son to work sometimes when I have no other resources....and the other perk is FREE TUITION for immediate family! My 19 year old son is attending college for FREE!!!!! Look into it...

I'm waaaaaay ahead of you... the HR page at my college is one of my Favorite links.

What about working for a transcription service? They give you the equipment to listen to the tapes...send you tapes...you type. You can do it anytime of the day, however there is usually a pretty quick turnaround time. i think they pay by the number of pages.

HEY! I love those tee shirts! I'm going to have to get one.

Good luck, Stacy! Scary and exciting.

I thought about bartending in between teaching jobs- similar reasons- I wanted a job I didn't take home with me (physically and mentally). Then I got my job so I scratched that plan.

Anyway, just wanted to wish you well.

    Stacy,
I want that, too. Why does it seem too much to ask for? Good luck with your search. I'm rooting for you. You can be an example for the rest of us.
