Hypothetically, let's say that you were going to switch cellphone carriers in a couple of months. Your husband's company has corporate discounts with a couple of different carriers. You want to upgrade to a smartphone. Would you:
1) Go with the company that gives you the best monthly rate, get a Blackberry nearly free (even though you can't get the Curve in pink or red, only titanium. Damn.) and be happy with it, or
2) Go with the company that has a slightly (and it is only slightly) higher monthly rate and get the iPhone, the phone you have dreamed about?
I'm a big iPod user. In fact, I even use it in the classroom. If I had an iPhone, I could use it with my iLive and make sure there was NO objectionable material on the phone. There would be no way my students could stumble across Insane Clown Posse.
I have wanted a Blackberry for over six years. Of course, as soon as the iPhone came out, my lust was transferred.
What should I do, Internet? Blackberry or iPhone?
Stacy - some ideas re: a new phone for you:
1. The iPhone is good, but not perfect. Check out this report on my blog: http://sellinggeek.com/should-salespeople-buy-an-apple-iphone-3g-now/
2. If you want a BlackBerry (I have one and love it for email), wait for either the new Bold model on AT&T http://sellinggeek.com/looks-like-mid-november-before-verizon-releases-the-blackberry-storm-att-to-launch-blackberry-bold-on-october-2nd/ or the ultra-cool Storm on Verizon in mid-November http://sellinggeek.com/blackberry-storm-virtual-keyboard-and-screen-shots-revealed-still-no-firm-release-date-set-sales-geeks-squirm-with-frustration/ Me - I'm getting a Storm, myself.
3. If you're on T-Mobile, check out the new G1, which is the first Android phone. Not so great at music, though. http://sellinggeek.com/googles-android-mobile-operating-system-arrives-how-does-this-affect-sales-professionals-and-why-should-they-care/
Hope this helps!
